Farewell 2010

2010 was a good year. It went by so fast though! I can't believe how quickly it flew by! It seems like the older i get the faster time goes by. I would say the highlight of my year was getting my car, haha. I got it in February, and it doesn't feel like it's been that long!
I had a wonderful Christmas, and a wonderful semester in school. I hope all of you were able to spend time with family and loved ones for the Holidays. I made a picture for our last sunset in 2010... i hope you all enjoy. :) Happy New Year's everyone!

Tangled

Okay, for those of you who haven't seen Disney's latest animated film, Tangled....
GO SEE IT!

I'm pretty critical when it comes to Disney films. Honestly, I lost a lot of faith in Disney when it quit traditional animation. In my opinion, Tarzan (1999) was one of the last magical, touching, good, Disney movies they made. I'm not a big fan of Pixar. Yeah, they've made some pretty good movies like Up, and Finding Nemo, but to me, they just didn't have that old Disney magic that came with the older movies.
So I was kind of holding my breath for Tangled. I wanted it to be good, but I wasn't expecting to love it.

well...I LOVE THAT MOVIE! it has everything the old Disney had! The characters sing fun songs in the movie, there's love, magic, lot's of Laugh-out-Loud moments, heart warming moments, and tearjerkers. It's absolutely wonderful! I felt like a little girl again when I was watching it!

I loved it so much i couldn't help myself and I made FAN ART! HOHOHOHHOOOOO.... Santa laugh. :D

Family Portraits

okay. I like Photography. Enough to take some classes and possibly be a photographer part-time at some point in my life. But man oh man are photo shoots fun! If I were in better shape, I would love to be a model. Not like a nasty Victoria's Secret Ho-I MEAN MODEL. just ...I don't know. A Model for fun out door pictures or art projects. This was fun for me! Especially with our family Pugs.
This is me and one of our Pugs, Kiwi. She's so sweet. My older Sister's class mate took the Photo Shoot for us. This is the first time we've done Family Pictures in like...what...Seven Years? Six? ....A long time. And it was fun. There's so many sweet pictures of my Sister and her Hubbie. My Parents took some cute shots too! Normally I avoid the camera like the plague, but it's kind of funny... Since I turned 20, it's like "Eh, Whatever."
Which makes me love not being a teenager a little bit more. Britney (my older sister, for those of you who don't know) and I, decided at target one day, while we were touching just about everything we could get our hands on, that the BEST part of being an adult... was you won't get scolded for touching or messing with stuff on the shelf in stores. Seriously! I remember being a kid and reaching out for something pretty (and probably fragile) and my mom would lightly smack my hand down and tell me "Don't touch." ...NOW I CAN TOUCH!!! HAHAHAHA!
I'm swaying off topic. Family Portraits. I love them. They're so much fun! I can't wait until I have a family of my own someday and I get to take pictures with my kids (and tell them "Don't touch" at the store, hahaha).

Fall Semester 2010

Hey!
So i survived the semester! In fact, i passed it off with flying colors! I received all A's in my 3 classes! :)

I am so jazzed about getting straight A's! sure it was only 3 classes, but they were all Art Classes. "Oh sure, big deal, you love art, that shouldn't have been hard..." Actually, it was pretty challenging. I had constant projects to work on. Projects i wouldn't normally do on my own time. It was new ideas and a fun challenge. One of my favorite projects this semester was the black and white portrait we had to paint. I chose to paint Johnny Depp.

I was so impressed with myself! I didn't think i could do it! BUT I DID! I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging, I'm just genuinely shocked! I am my own worst critic. My professor, Adel Shafik, was very impressed with me. He told me i had a wonderful talent and that he wants me to continue in art and to go chase my dreams. He almost made me cry. He's a very nice person. A little crazy sometimes though, but in a humorous way. Once, there was a loud noise that shook the windows of our art room and he yelled "OH CRAP! THE RUSSIANS ARE HERE!" I almost fell out of my seat laughing! haha!

This semester was definitely memorable. :) lot's of fun.
